A double ambition: to feed and build the future
Chad, a recognized leader in agro-pastoral fields in Africa, has more than 130 million head of cattle on its vast territory of 1,284,000 km², of which 70% is cultivable land. In this context, HBC Agriculture and Livestock is developing a large-scale project just 90 kilometers from N'Djamena, combining the cultivation of 1,500 hectares of corn and the breeding of more than 7,000 head of dromedaries, 100,000 head of cows, and 200,000 head of sheep.
Corn crops - 1,500 hectares
A strategic initiative that reflects the company's desire to establish itself as a key player in the modernization of agriculture and pastoralism in Chad, thus contributing to strengthening the country's African leader position in these vital sectors for the national economy.
Intensive corn production meets the growing demand for cereals, both for human consumption and animal fodder.
Intensive breeding: 7,000+ dromedaries, 100,000 cows, 200,000 sheep
In parallel, the intensive breeding of dromedaries, cows, and sheep perpetuates local pastoral know-how while opening new economic perspectives: milk, meat, and derivatives for the national and regional markets, thus contributing to valuing Chad's agro-pastoral potential as an African leader in this field.
Thanks to this structuring project, HBC confirms its expertise and commitment to sustainable development of rural areas.
The company relies on modern agricultural techniques, high-performance infrastructures, and rigorous management to ensure the sustainability of its activities.
